Living In Tyger Quays

There is a smart meter installed in every unit, which records water usage during the month. Every month, before purchasing prepaid electricity, you have to first settle the water bill of the previous month before you can buy electricity, on the same box. To see usage and bill info, please download the PPM Portal app from Apple or Google.

The fibre infrastructure in Tyger Waterfront is supplied by Seacom, and their ISP is WonderNet. If you do not yet have fibre in your unit, the owner must first arrange with WonderNet for the installation of fibre. Once there is fibre, the resident may then apply with WonderNet for a package that is suitable to them. You can find WonderNet’s details under Service Providers & Contractors below.

Tyger Quays has a DStv satellite dish, with points terminating in every unit’s lounge and main bedroom. You are welcome to appoint a professional to assist with your installation. Note that DStv can also be streamed via fibre.

Yes, one small dog or cat is allowed per unit, but written consent must be obtained before the pet is brought onto the premises. Please download the Pet Registration form under Documents below, and follow the steps in the form.

The refuse room, situated next to the basement gate, is open daily from 06:00 to 20:00. Please ensure all refuse is in a bin bag, and in the case of pet litter or fluids, double bagged. Cardboard boxes must be flattened and placed in the back of the refuse room. Only bags and cardboard boxes may be placed in the refuse room, all other items (including building rubble) must be disposed of privately.

The Swimming Pool is open daily from 06:00 to 22:00. The security guard will share the access code of the lock with you. Note that children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Also note and follow the conditions of use on the pool gate.

There are seven visitor bays located to the left of the basement ramp, with a maximum park time of 12 hours. These bays are available to visitors and contractors of Tyger Quays only, and not for Tyger Quays residents (you may be clamped and fined). There is additional surface parking available at the front of the Tyger Quays Building between 18:00 and 06:00 Monday to Thursday and between 18:00 Friday and 06:00 Monday, with a maximum park time of 12 hours. During these times, these bays are available to residents, visitors and contractors of Tyger Quays only.

At Tyger Quays, we value being considerate of those living around us. Our quiet times are from 22:00 to 08:00 every night. Please ensure you reduce noise during these hours, including people, television and music. Note that building tools may only be used between 08:00 and 18:00 on weekdays.

East Wing
Please make use of the east wing staircase to the first floor, and from there the exterior staircase via the fire escape door leading to the surface parking area at the front of the building.

West Wing
Please make use of the west wing staircase to the first floor, and from there the courtyard staircase to the fire escape door leading to the swimming pool at the rear of the building.

The only fire escape door that may be used is the one next to the basement gate, in order to gain access to the refuse room. All other fire escapes are strictly fire emergency exits only and may not be used. They are all armed with an alarm and under CCTV surveillance. Using these doors will result in a security fine.

Installations & Renovations

The Residential Security Gate Standard was approved by the Tyger Quays Owners at a Special General Meeting, and this standard must be complied with. As security gates are installed on the outside of units on the Common Property of Tyger Quays, you are required to obtain written consent from the Trustees of the Tyger Quays Body Corporate, before commencing with an installation.

Roller blinds are highly visible from the exterior of the Tyger Quays and the greater Tyger Waterfront and it is therefore imperative that we ensure uniformity is achieved. Therefore, you are required to obtain written consent from the Trustees of the Tyger Quays Body Corporate, who will provide you with the approved design guidelines, before commencing with an installation.

You are welcome to install an air conditioner, but there are specific guidelines that need to be adhered to ensure the external units and conduits are installed in an unobtrusive way. Therefore, you are required to obtain written consent from the Trustees of the Tyger Quays Body Corporate, who will provide you with the approved design guidelines, before commencing with an installation.

Yes. At Tyger Quays, we value being considerate of those living around us. It is therefore important that we are informed of what renovations will be taking place, together with the length of time that the building will continue for. Also, we need to ensure that the integrity of the building will not be compromised. Therefore, you are required to obtain written consent from the Trustees of the Tyger Quays Body Corporate, who will provide you with the approved guidelines.

Reporting Issues

Please email security@tyger-quays.co.za (this will forward it to both the security company and our managing agent, and copy the trustees) and provide as much detail as possible, such as the place, time, person involved and the incident. In case of an emergency, phone the ASAP security supervisor at +27 76 395-2160.

Please email maintenance@tyger-quays.co.za (this will forward it to the managing agent, and copy the trustees) and provide as much detail as possible, including photos.

Business Hours
Please phone Vision Insurance on +27 21 914-4554, Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30 and Friday 08:00 to 15:30, to register a geyser claim for Tyger Quays Body Corporate. Inform them to use LPG, our approved plumbing contractor, as they know our building and setup. Thereafter, download and complete the Santam Claim form under Documents below, and submit it to claim@tyger-quays.co.za (this will forward it to both the managing agent and Vision Insurance). They will be in contact to inform you of the next steps.

After Hours
Please phone Santam SOS on +27 86 0505-911. Inform them that LPG is our approved plumbing contractor, as they know our building and setup. They will inform you of the next steps.
